Boys’ Brigade Zambia has invited Global Fellowship to hold its Triennial Council and Conference in Lusaka from 13th – 17th August 2019.

This will be the opportunity to shape the future direction and identity of Global Fellowship as we share together our expectations of membership. We shall also be looking at and experiencing young people taking the lead at all levels from local groups to GF itself. There will also be opportunity to share the culture of Zambia and visit local Boys’ Brigade activities.

The event is open to any registered leader from member organisations, but only nominated delegates may exercise a national organisation’s vote.

Under the theme “Becoming a strong voice in society for and by youth – to get and give space” we invite member organisations to join us in Lusaka.

Many of our member organisations are struggling on at least two issues:

Externally: Thou we have a strong relation to the local church from which we are based we often need more space to become strong and independent. Some still not have own constitution and therefore are not able to create conditions to fulfill their hole potential. (Papers on the theme will be posted later)

Internally: Inside the member organisations we need to have and give space to young people to seek leadership as coming leaders.

Their voices have to be heard and we will give this our full attention at the Council Meeting. To support that we will have to set a new direction for Global Fellowship for the coming years.

Workshop Day one: The voice of civil society – building empowerment of national bodies (together with BB Zambia) with guest speakers

Workshop Day two: The voice of coming leaders (together with FDF Denmark and Change Maker) – building space to young leaders. With guest speakers

The venue for the Council and Conference will be the Cresta Golf View Hotel in Lusaka. The venue boast some 70 bedrooms along with conference facilities which will host the various workshops, meetings and more. There is also a bar and restaurant and leisure facilities at the hotel.

Accommodation at the Cresta Golf View Hotel can be booked as part of the registration for the event for either 4 (£135) or 5 nights (£165) (arriving on 13th and departing on either 17th or 18th) based on sharing a twin bedroom.
